Weekend mani & "dusty" haul

Here's a quick picture of the mani I did on Saturday for the weekend (I was at my in-laws & didn't know what to do):
Zoya Zuza & OPI Servin' Up Sparkle
I used 2 coats of Zuza & a coat of Servin' Up Sparkle, no topcoat.  Yes, it's gritty feeling, but I was in a hurry & it's held up very well, I hardly have any wear.
I went to my local JCPenney yesterday & decided I seeing what polishes they had on sale & I found these for $4 each:
OPI Big Hair...Big Nails, Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?, Skull & Glossbones
On a non-polish related note, my boyfriend's Aunt passed away on Monday after about a 9 month battle with cancer.  I'm glad she's not in pain any more, but she will be missed dearly by so many people.

WARNING: Guy Nails!

First off here's a picture of the nail mail I got today:
OPI Grape...Set...Match, Servin' Up Sparkle, ManGlaze Butt Taco, Mink Mitten
I bought the OPI Grand Slam set off of ebay & got sent the ManGlaze polish for review.  & with that, on to the review (excuse my boyfriend's nails--I made him do this since ManGlaze polishes were designed with men in mind)!
ManGlaze Mink Mitten

ManGlaze Butt Taco (he couldn't get his fingers to go together any better, lol)

The formula for both of these polishes are AMAZING!  Mink Mitten is purple with a ton of silver shimmer in it & could be a 1 coater, but I used 2.  Butt Taco is orange with a bit of a shimmer, but not in-your-face noticeable & needs 2 coats, but is still perfect (sorry it looks a bit gloppy on my bf's nails--that's my fault for trying to hurry & get it done since he was bitching).  As with other mattes, these dry super quick (my bf said "mattes are amazing" for how fast they dry) & I love the feel of the them when they're dry.  I LOVE these & need the rest of the polishes ManGlaze offers!
*The ManGlaze polishes were sent to me for my honest review, which I gave.*

Black & White

I did this mani for a contest that!/BerryPolished is holding (I know I have no chance in hell of winning).
Here's the list of polishes I used: right hand--pinkie: Zoya Christinna w/ newsprint (both my & my bf's favorite), ring: Misa Black Out w/ white stamping, middle: Cover Band Lacquers Sticks 'n Stones & Dandy Nails Colorblind², index: Sinful Colors Snow Me White & LA Colors Circuits, thumb: Color Club Revvvolution with Worth the Risque dots.  Left hand--thumb: OPI Metallic 4 Life with Pirouette My Whistle over it, index: Wet 'n Wild Ebony Hates Chris & Zoya Purity, middle: Zoya Raven with China Glaze Lightning Bolt, ring: LA Colors black & white stripers, pinkie: Zoya Loredana & Purity with NYC Matte Me Crazy over Purity.

Nail mail & cheap polish

I went to my local Family Dollar yesterday & picked up a couple L.A. Colors polishes that were on sale for $0.80 (I think they're going from the polishes being in packages to just being in a rack).
L.A. Colors Shock, Circuits, Base/Top Coat
& today I got some nail mail!
Dandy Nails Colorblind², Mystique Nail Applique in Downtown Lights White
I ordered Colorblind² the last time it was available & I got it quick!  I LOVE the black & white glitter polishes & I would love to own them all (my dream is to have a whole drawer in my melmer full of indies--so far I own 3, lol).  The Mystique Nail Appliques were sent to me for review & I hope to use them ASAP (I'd really love to use them in July when I go camping to see how they hold up, but I feel like I should get to them sooner than that).

Quick haul post

Before going to the game last night (which we had to leave "early" because it went into extra innings & we had a 2 1/2 hour drive back & our son needed to go to school today.  Giants ended up winning though!) we stopped at a couple of places in Madison so I could look for nail polish & another melmer from Michael's (which I got since they're on sale).  I had 2 coupons for Sally's (one $5 off $5 or more for buying a beauty card & the May birthday $10 off $20 or more--I had my bf use the $5 off one) & this is what I picked up:
China Glaze Glam-More, Jade-d, Gleam Me Up, Luminous Lavender, Agro, Orly Snowcone
I know a lot of people are over the crackle polish, but I have all the other China Glaze crackles & I like using them from time to time.  I picked up Orly Snowcone (which is a lovely color) because Agro alone wasn't over $5 for my bf to use the coupon, but I'm kicking myself for not picking up Out The Door or Seche Vite (which was on sale 2 for $10).  I love China Glaze & I have a want list a mile long, but it's not very easy for me to get.  I'm really hoping to get a big haul & wipe out a lot of my want list next month--keep your fingers crossed for me.

Jelly sandwich

This is going to be a quick post as I'm heading out soon, but I'd like to start off by saying RIP to a friend--my first bottle of Zoya remove +.
Here's a picture of the nail mail I got on Saturday:
Zoya Blogger Collection: Coraline, Kate, Belle
Okay, so I *kinda* broke my no-Zoya buying promise, but I did buy these from Birchbox & not Zoya, they're JELLY polishes which I don't think I have any of, & they cost less than 3 normal Zoyas would ($22 instead of $24 + shipping).  Oh yeah, they're also limited edition.
& here's a picture of the mani I did for today:
Zoya Coraline & Cover Band Lacquers Sticks 'n Stones
My boyfriend, son & I are heading to Milwaukee to go to the Giants/Brewers game tonight so I did a mani in Giants colors (yes, I'm a Red Sox fan, but I do like other teams also).  Even though I knew I'd be wearing a black & orange mani I didn't know it'd be this freakin' sweet, lol.  I used Julep base coat, 2 coats of Zoya Coraline, a coat of Sticks 'n Stones & one more coat of Coraline.  This is my first glitter/jelly sandwich & I love it.
What do you think of sandwich manis?

"Boy you got my heartbeat runnin' away..."

I finally used more of my OPI Nicki Minaj polishes!  I love these--I love the colors & the formula is amazing.  I started with Julep base coat & I finished with a coat of NYC Grand Central Station (clear top coat).
Right hand--OPI Did It On 'Em with Fly accent nail

Left hand--OPI Fly with Did It On 'Em accent nail (sorry about the sideways picture)
The above pictures is with base coat & then 2 coats of each color, no top coat.  So shiny!  & since I can't leave well enough alone:
OPI Super Bass shatter over Did It On 'Em & Save Me over Fly

OPI Super Bass shatter over Fly & Save Me over Did It On 'Em
I love Save Me & Super Bass shatter.  I used 1 coat of each.  Here are a couple pictures to try & show the shimmer in Super Bass better (& to see the holo bar glitter in Save Me better):

Syrup nails

A few months ago I read on a blog (sorry, I don't remember which one) about syrup nails--how you use a sheer polish & layer it so it goes from light to dark like syrup dripping.  For both hands I used Julep base coat & Pure Ice Rio.
Left hand syrup nails
Rio is a very pretty magenta color with purple shimmer.  On my left hand I started at the tips & worked up in sections, having 4 total sections (not sure how well you can tell from the picture).  I really like how it looks.
Right hand syrup nails (disregard the short index & middle nails)
On my right hand I started by putting a coat of Rio over the whole nail & then went in 3 sections & added less & less to the nail (full coat, 2/3 of the nail, just tips)--I don't like how this looks as much as the left hand.  Overall I do like the syrup look & will do it again with other sheer polishes I have (& Rio--I love this color), it's just something quick & simple.
& here's a picture of a couple of polishes I picked up when I went to Walmart.  I'd been looking at these colors for awhile & finally bought them.
NYC Lexington Yellow, High Line Green, Water Street Blue

I love rainbows & I've had this idea in my head for a rainbow mani & I finally decided on doing it, but it didn't turn out how I had pictured it.  Oh well, I guess it was cute & my boyfriend said he really liked it (I swear he likes the manis I think I fail at, lol).

Here's a list of polishes I used: Julep base coat, Zoya Purity, Rekha, Arizona, Creamy, Shawn, Tallulah, Mira & Northern Lights as a top coat.
I used Purity (white) to try & have the colors be brighter.  I used my dotting tools to do this mani, but I actually wanted smaller/more mixed colors--if I do this again I'll be using a smaller dot.

It's been awhile...

Sorry I haven't posted, my laptop's been in the shop because it got a nasty virus, thankfully nothing was lost. I sent out the package from my 50 followers giveaway & I hope that Taryn enjoys it.I've gotten a few polishes in the mail since last weekend that I have to show you & a couple swatches/manis also.
First up is the nail mail:
Finger Paints Watermelon Watercolor, Art Nouv-Yellow, Go Van Gogh!, Cerulean Seascape, Lavender Highlight & tote
I ordered these from Sally's (some colors are on sale) & I got the tote for free for buying 5 (I think) FP polishes.
Nubar Reclaim, OPI Pirouette My Whistle, Pink Friday, Super Bass shatter, Essie To Buy or Not To Buy
I bought Reclaim off of ebay (my first Nubar!) & the others where from's the swatches/manis:
Revlon Whimsical
I needed something on my nails yesterday so I thought I'd put on Revlon Whimsical--this is 3 coats.  It's a really pretty color, but I need to layer it over another color b/c it's so sheer & with the slight blue tint it just looks like I have cold fingers, lol.
After I took off Whimsical this is the mani I did:

Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I had to take the quick before I left to go get a couple of tattoos (I have 9 now).
I used 1 coat of Finger Paints Cerulean Seascape as the base color with 1 coat of Jordana Cosmic & then 1 coat of Northern Lights to help everything dry & for a little bit extra sparkle.

Nail mailtime!

This is just a quick post to show you what came in the mail today:
Zoya Lara, Kimber, Reagan, Rory, Carley, Ibiza, Cynthia (& free gifts: grapefruit sugar scrub & 2 oz remove +)
I *almost* poured the remove + into my pump bottle & then figured I'd save it since it's the perfect size to travel with.  Not sure if I'll use the hand scrub.
Zoya Cassi, Lianne, Myrta, Paz, Creamy, Tangy, Christinna & Nail-Venturous Floam
As you can tell, my Zoya Earth Day order arrived (& the last Zoyas I'll be buying for 6 months) & also FLOAM!  I don't normally talk about the polishes when I get them/before I use them, but I have to say this--holy s**t is Paz BRIGHT!  & I say that in a very good, I love it way.
Have a great day & enter my giveaway--still only 11 entries & it ends tomorrow!
& to go with my title:

End of April haul (long post)

This last Saturday (which would have been my Grandma's birthday) my bf & I went to Chicago to see the Red Sox (my team, who won 1-0) play the White Sox (his team). It was the first time I've got to see Jarrod Saltalamacchia play (what can I say, the guy's hot).  I had a really cute idea for my mani, but was so tired the night before I just went with red nails & a white accent nail with a Red Sox logo decal on it.  It was cute, but looked a little crappy so I didn't take pics.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia
Since I live about 4 1/2 hours away from U.S. Cellular Field & a lot of places to shop for polish I did go shopping for a couple hours before the game--this weekend was the first time I'd been to a Sally Beauty Supply, Ulta, Five Below or ROSS (was rushed & didn't find anything there).  Let's get to the haul pics:
Pure Ice Free Spirit, Revlon Starry Pink, Spoiled Vitamin C, Don't Be Cheesy, I Only Eat Salads, Checkin' Into Rehab
I got the Pure Ice earlier last week, but never posted it.  The Revlon I picked up at Target & the Spoiled polishes from CVS (I had a 25% off purchase coupon).
Funky Fingers Cayman Island, Wild Child, Volts, Riot, Sand & Stilettos, Flashing Lights
I got these at Five Below & they were 3/$5.
Jordana Pink Hearts, Fairy Dust, Pixie Pink, Sequins, Copper Blaze, Cosmic, Gemstones
K-Mart was having on a BOGO 50% off sale on Jordana polish (maybe all Jordana products?) so I picked these up--& yes, there's an odd number because my boyfriend picked one out for my giveaway.  They didn't have some of the glitters I wanted (Rhinestones, Lunar Lights) & I didn't pick up any of the non-glitter polishes, smh.
China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Frostbite, Pelican Gray, Fairy Dust, Orly Nite Owl, Androgynie
Sally's was having a buy 2 get 1 free on polishes & I had a coupon for $10 off $20 or more (which the cashier said she's never seen.  I did have to buy a Beauty Club card for $5 to use the coupon, but it was worth it).
China Glaze Polarized, Ray-diant, Optical Illusion, inm Northern Lights
I picked up Northern Lights at Sally's along with the polishes above, but I was trying to even out the pics.  These 3 China Glaze polishes I picked up at Ulta since they were having a buy 2 get 1 free also & I had the $3.50 off $10 coupon.
I'm happy that I got these, but I am so disappointed in missing out on going to a couple nail supply stores where I was (hopefully) going to get a butt load of polishes (more China Glaze, Color Club, & Orly)--a huge polish haul is supposed to be my belated 30th birthday gift from my family (the cash has been in my purse since October, lol).  I also didn't get another melmer from Michael's because they weren't on sale.  I will just have to wait until either the next time I go to Chicago (in June with my bf's family for a White Sox/Brewers game) or the time after that in August when my bf, son & I fly to Boston (first time going & the first time we'll be at Fenway--SO excited) to hit up the nail supply stores *sigh*.
**Expect more polish porn either later today or tomorrow--my Zoyas are in town!**
DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!  There's only 11 entries at the time of this post.
