Glittery emo?

I love wearing black/dark polishes & to me it doesn't matter what time of year it is, but I know to some people black/dark nail polish is goth/emo.
This weekend I wanted to wear glitter/sparkly nails, but I wanted to use darker polishes & here's what I came up with:
inside, artificial light

outside, sunlight
I used Julep basecoat, 1 coat of Color Club Revvvolution & 1 coat of NYX Girls Frizzy Spots--you can't really tell in the pictures, but it is so holo-glittery in real life!  It's the dark version of the mani I wore for Father's Day (at the end of this post).
Here's what I've gotten off of copious.com with the last credits (I did pay extra for some of these polishes):
Pretty Polish Spectraflair Top Coat, China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y, Holly-Day, Stone Cold
I still have 1 more polish coming from copious.com & it's one of *my* biggest lemmings so of course it's taking awhile to get here, lol.
Have you got any polish lately?

Somewhere over the rainbow....

Sorry I've been slacking when it comes to blogging--my internet was off for a few days though (damn Charter!).
I decided I wanted to try & do a full sponged mani & here is what I came up with:
I know this isn't the best clean up (I did clean it up better), but I really wanted to get a picture taken.  I started off with NYC Grand Central Station as a base coat, 2 coats of Zoya Christinna (white for under the sponged on colors) & then used the following colors for the "rainbow"--Zoya Lara (pink), Arizona (orange), Creamy (yellow), China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (green), Zoya Robyn (blue) & Mira (purple).  I topped everything with a coat of Seche Vite.
As much as I loved how this looked (I know the sponging isn't the greatest, but it's the best I've ever done), I noticed the next day that I already had a couple of chips.  Normally Zoya polishes don't chip on me so I'm thinking it has to do with NYC Grand Central Station.  I decided to ass a little more to the mani:

I added Pretty Polish Spectraflair Top Coat that I got off of copious.com.  I LOVE this top coat!  As much as I loved this whole look, the mani peeled off in chunks (most of the nails peeled off in one chunk).  I won't be using Grand Central Station under any mani I actually want to last from now on. I'll post tomorrow with the polish I've gotten off of copious.com & the mani I've had on since Saturday (which I didn't use Grand Central Station).
Ever try a sponged mani?

Finally home

I didn't get time to post on the Friday before I left for camping (we actually left at 11:30 Friday night).  We got back on Wednesday & decided to run home & pack & go back to my in-laws since my bf's middle brother was there (we don't see him very much).  My bf, his 2 brothers & our son were also golfing in a 4 person best ball outing to raise money for cystic fibrosis since an 11 year-old boy in town is living with it.
Here is the mani I quickly did in between the golfing & the auction & whatnot later on at my in-laws tavern:
China Glaze Shower Together, Wet n Wild Hollywood Walk of Fame accent nail
I only used 1 coat of Shower Together when I should have used 2, but I was going to be at the bar so it looked fine, lol.  I added a coat of Hollywood Walk of Fame to my ring finger as an accent (since the  kid with CF is a star) & got 3 stars on my left hand & 2 on my right.  I topped everything with a coat of Seche Vite--I hadn't used it before, but it does dry fast & makes everything very shiny, but the smell reminds me of the glue/paint you'd use on model cars.
Here's what I've gotten since I blogged last:
LEX Nail Lacquer Tuilleries, Wet n Wild Hollywood Walk of Fame, New Years Kiss
I got the LEX polish for free off of a site (that I can't remember right now, but I've seen that others have gotten it also) & I wrote Tuilleries becasue that's what's on the bottom of the bottle (although I think it was called Wedding something or other).  The other 2 polishes are from the Fergie line, but I just list them under my Wet n Wild polishes.
China Glaze Strawberry Fields, Four Leaf Clover, Shower Together, Diamond Dry Top Coat Brilliance, Orly Can't Be Tamed, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, Orly Nail Lacquer Thinner
This is my Sally's haul (with the $10 off $20 or more birthday coupon that the cashier was like "nice, did you get this off the internet?").  The Diamond Dry was free with the purchase of 2 China Glaze polishes (had to tell the cashier & show her it in the flyer), got the Orly glitter since I didn't pick it up last time, bought a bottle of Seche Vite since everyone seems to love it & picked up some thinner because I know some of my polishes need it.
Wet n Wild Pom Pom Kelly, Straight A Jesse, Pin' Em Slater, Nerd Alert: Screech, Chick Magnet Zack, Fasionista Lisa
Picked up the Saved By The Bell collection at K-Mart (went in looking for Jordana polishes I don't have).  I kinda *had* to get these because what 80s/90s kid didn't watch that show?  Plus, they were only $0.97.
I got these nails & adhesive tabs sent to me from the company to do a review.  I'm not sure if I will ever wear them (I like my natural nails & I keep them too long to wear fake nails) so I might have to see if I can get a friend or someone to use them for me (but as I've said, no one really knows about my blog, lol).

Today it's Thursday the 12th, what will happen tomorrow?

Just a quick Thursday post, trying to get packed & make sure we have everything for camping.
Sinful Colors Amethyst
Sinful Colors Amethyst is a color I kept picked up & putting back whenever I'd see it in the store & finally I bought it.  It's a great violet & it covers in 1 coat!  The formula was great & it's very shiny without topcoat (pictures are inside, artificial light & no flash).
& here's what I picked up at Walmart when we were getting last minute items for camping (I had a $1 off coupon for both):
Maybelline Navy Narcissist, Sally Hansen Pumping Iron

Waiting for Wednesday's post

I've decided to stay with the days of the week song titles for the posts this week, lol.  I went through my cd collection the other night & realized how much I miss non-digital formats (cds, tape, records)....Anyway, let's get on with today's post!  Just a simple skittles mani w/ my Finger Paints polishes & a Lush Lacquer polish:
Finger Paints Watermelon Watercolor, Art Nouv-Yellow, Go Van Gogh!, Cerulean Seascape, Lavender Highlight
All of these polishes were really easy to work with & were all 2 coaters except for Art Nouv-Yellow which was a 3 coater.  I didn't add a top coat since I was going to add glitter:
Finger Paints Watermelon Watercolor, Art Nouv-Yellow, Go Van Gogh!, Cerulean Seascape, Lavender Highlight topped with Lush Lacquer Flippin Out
I added Lush Lacquer Flippin Out which is PACKED with different sizes & colors of glitter.  I do find that it is a bit hard to spread out the glitter if you have too much of it on your brush (I always wipe my brush before I paint & even with doing that I had to try & get more glitter off the brush for it not to clump).  The other "problem" with this polish is that the large yellow hex glitters hardly come out (only 2 did & of course it was on the yellow nail, lol).  I really do like Flippin Out overall though.

Tuesday's gone with the wind...

Actually, my Tuesday is just getting started (it's a little after 12:30 am).  My second day in a row of posting a mani with polishes I've never used.
Zoya Kate & Ivanka, All That Glitters Spotty Dottie Dark
Every since I got All That Glitters Spotty Dottie Dark I wanted to use it in a glitter sandwich & when I thought about using Zoya Kate I figured it'd look like the inside on a watermelon so I decided to add a Zoya Ivanka rind.  I used 1 coat of Kate then added 1 coat of Spotty Dottie Dark, another coat of Kate & then free-handed Ivanka on the tips.  I really think this is cute even though I don't like to eat watermelon.
Hope you like it!

Just another mani Monday (& stash spam)

So I'm going to *try* & do a mani each day this week of a polish (or polishes) I haven't used yet.  Friday will be the last day because we'll be heading North early Saturday to go camping for a few days with my bf's family.
Pure Ice Home Run
The picture shows the polish a bit lighter than it actually is, it's a mint green polish.  Covered in 2 coats, was a bit gloppy, but smoothed out with a top coat (NYC Grand Central Station).  & yes, I cut my nails down in hopes they won't break while camping.
Zoya America, Yummy
I got these with the Zoya promo code they just had (FREEDOM2 I think) even though the total wasn't $10.
In less than a month my bf, our son & I are going on a trip out to Boston so I'm putting myself on a sort of no-buy.  I decided that since I won't really be adding any polishes to my stash that it would be a good time to take updated stash pictures (7 pics).  406 polishes total.  Enjoy!
Zoya & Julep

OPI, Nicole by OPI, Finger Paints, Jordana, Born Pretty

Friday Fun with Floam

Holy sh!t, I'm blogging for the second day in a row!  LOL.  In all honesty I actually FEEL like doing my nails more, maybe it's the heat or the fact that my son's baseball season is now over, who knows.  Considering I have over 400 polishes I feel a bit guilty if I'm not painting my nails & if I'm not using polishes I never have so I used 3 "new" polishes for my mani today:
NYC New York Color High Line Green, Water Street Blue (topped with Matte Me Crazy) & Nail-Venturous Floam

NYC New York Color Water Street Blue, High Line Green (topped with Matte Me Crazy) & Nail-Venturous Floam
I really love this combo, but it's not a surprise when green & blue have always been two of my favorite colors.  I started off with a basecoat (NYC New York Color Grand Central Station) & then 2 coats of Water Street Blue & High  Line Green--both covered perfectly in 2 coats.  I added Matte Me Crazy (which I LOVE) over those nails since I haven't used it in awhile.  As an accent nail I did 4 coats of Floam with 2 coats of Out the Door topcoat (helped somewhat with smoothing it out, but not completely).
I love all of these polishes, but the problem I had with using that many coats of polish for Floam is this:
Floam "nail"
All the polish on my nail peeled off in one chunk.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I don't have scrub off Floam, but I also wanted it to last more than the 16 hours or so I had it on.  Guess I'll just use some "underwear" with it so I don't need so many coats of Floam.
All in all I am so happy with this mani, my bf loves it (Floam is his favorite polish of mine) & I will be wearing this again!

Sorry I've been a bad blogger

I really have no excuse as to why I haven't posted in awhile besides being too damn lazy to do it.  I do have a few things to show you including 2 manis I've done so let's get to it!
Here's the mani that I did on Sunday:

China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le
This is the first time I've used Secret Peri-Wink-Le & I am so glad I finally did!  Another polish that's perfect--the formula is amazing & is perfect in 2 coats.
China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Rainbow Honey 20% Cooler
I added Rainbow Honey's 20% Cooler as an accent nail--LOVE how this looked!  I only took this mani off because I tried to add China Glaze Glam-More glitter crackle over it on Monday night, but it didn't crackle at all so it was just mini glitter over the blue which didn't look horrible, but it's not what I wanted (I did take a picture, but I deleted it on accident, smh).  I have no idea why it didn't crack, all of my other China Glaze crackle polishes crack really well (I haven't tried the other glitter crackles yet though).  I will try it out again along with the other glitter crackles & let you know how they work.
Last night I thought I'd try out a couple more polishes I haven't worn yet & ended up with this:
Zoya Apple & Rory

Zoya Rory & Apple
Both Zoya Apple (green with yellow-gold shimmer) & Rory (lilac pink with silver shimmer) applied like a dream (like most Zoya polishes).  This is 2 coats of each even though I could have gotten away with 1 coat of Rory.  Apple is a bit sheer so it needs at least 2 coats.
Here's the polish I've gotten in the last week or so:
Julep Daphne, Kate, Mila, America, O Canada!; 365 Days of Color Funfetti; Wet n Wild French White Creme, Black Creme
I've also picked up some mini nail art bottles from the Dollar Tree & got some striping tape off ebay:

Hope everyone's staying cool (it's been in the 90s & 100s & humid in Wisconsin), tonight's my son's last baseball game for the season--I'm going to miss the kids & everything, but not the heat I've had to sit in, lol.
I've been thinking about wanting to do another giveaway, but I want to reach 150 blog followers first (I'm at 69).  I'd also like to start getting followers on my FB (I don't use it all that much, but it's mostly because I only have 7 likes/followers) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dennys-Digits/233955413362659.  Spread the word!
